Avocado Lime Shake

A sweet, thick, rich, warm shake.  Yes, warm.  At room temperature, a shake that doesn’t melt.  The amazingly creamy texture of avocado is the perfect alternative to ice cream on these chilly fall days. 

And it’s healthier too.  You just have to get over the fact that it’s green.  An easy solution?  Add freshly squeezed lime juice and it will all make sense to your eyes and your taste buds as you scoop up a spoonful of Avocado Lime Shake.

But without a touch of spice, your tongue might sense something missing from this Avocado Lime Shake.

To balance the flavors of the avocado and lime, add a just a little bit of vanilla extract.  A quarter teaspoon will do.  Too much and the vanilla will overpower the shake.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup water or 5 ice cubes

Instructions
 

  • Blend all ingredients and enjoy a warm shake this fall!

Notes

– You can also serve as a pudding.  It’s much quicker and simpler to make than cooking a homemade pudding, and just as delicious.  And of course it’s green, which makes it perfect for Halloween parties, or a fun and healthy dessert option for the Thanksgiving table.
