Ingredients

For the French toast:

  • 2 eggs & 1/4 cup milk per three slices of thick-cut bread
  • Dashes of Season with Spice's Ground Cinnamon and Ground Ginger and Nutmeg Powder

For the chocolate sauce:

  • 50 g good quality dark chocolate - chopped
  • 1/3 cup milk or half & half
  • 1-2 tsp maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla bean powder or 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vanilla Whipped Cream see recipe

Instructions

  • Make whipped cream first thing in the morning (or the night before).
  • Make the chocolate sauce next. Fill a small pot a quarter high with water, and heat on low. Place the dark chocolate and milk (or half & half) in a small stainless steel bowl, and then place the bowl into the pot.
  • Stir frequently to evenly melt the chocolate. Once it is melted and smooth, add in one tablespoon of milk at a time until the sauce reaches the desired consistency.
  • Finally, add in vanilla and maple syrup. Mix well to combine.
  • For the French toast, whip up the eggs and milk until frothy, then add in the spices and mix well. Add a little vegetable oil to a frying pan and heat on medium fire.
  • As the pan is heating, soak one slice of bread on both sides and transfer to the pan. Cook until golden brown on each side.
