Tandoori Roasted Salmon recipe

This is a very flavorful salmon recipe that goes great with rice or couscous. The tandoori spicing also pairs well with some simple grilled veggies like green beans, zucchini, and eggplant.

Ingredients

  • One 1/2lb salmon fillet less than one inch thick
  • 1-1.5 tsp of Season with Spice Tandoori Seasoning
  • 1/8 cup of plain yogurt
  • Salt to taste optional
  • Lemon wedge
  • Fresh cilantro

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450F.
  • Mix yogurt and tandoori seasoning in a small bowl (add in salt if using).
  • Line a baking pan with foil. Lightly grease with olive oil and place salmon fillet(s) on top. Baste the top and sides of the exposed salmon meat with a thick layer of the spiced yogurt.
  • When the oven reaches 450F, place the salmon on the top rack and turn the oven setting to broil.
  • After 5 minutes, fold the foil up to cover the thinner layer of the salmon, to prevent over cooking.
  • Broil for another 3-5 minutes (Cook times will vary depending on the size and type of the salmon, the heat of the oven, and so on. You’ll know when it’s done when you just begin to see the white fat begin to form on the sides of the salmon. You can definitely take it out before then, but I like my salmon medium cooked in this recipe).
  • Once the salmon is cooked, squeeze some lemon juice on top and add the fresh cilantro leaves.
